Get Involved

Besides weekly worship and Bible classes, there are many ways to be involved both in the life of the church and in serving the community.  Many of the opportunities listed here are organized by our members.

Healing Place Ministry

Every Sunday morning we drive to The Healing Place, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Raleigh, and bring anyone who is interested to church with us.  We have lunch with them afterwards so we can get to know them better.  By doing this over the past few years, we have been able to study with dozens of people, and have seen many come to Christ.  Contact: Michael Wheeler.

Dorothy Nixon Allen Manor Ministry

On Sunday afternoons some of us go to the D.N.A. Manor in Holly Springs to study the Bible and sing with the elderly people there.  Contact: Keith Newport.

Ladies’ Bible Study

The ladies of our church often meet during the week for special Bible studies.  Contact: Sherri Lehde.

Higher Grounds Coffee Shop

Good coffee in a local shop run by Christians is just ten minutes south of our building at Higher Grounds Coffee Shop (on Highway 55).  Run by our members Jim and Marsha Norris, Higher Grounds is a nice place for Bible studies and spiritual discussions and is a great way to meet people in the community.  Contact: Jim and Marsha Norris.

“Cards”

Every Tuesday morning, some of our ladies get together at Higher Grounds Coffee Shop to write cards of encouragement to those who are ill or bereaved.  Anyone is welcome!  Contact: Marsha Norris.

People Helping People Southeast

Over the past few years some of our members who are professional builders have used their talents to help needy people in the community.  Through their efforts, all of us (both skilled and unskilled) have had opportunities to contribute to necessary home improvement projects.  Contact: Rick Helton.

Clothed in Kindness Ministry

Got clothing you would like to donate to a good cause? We are always looking for opportunities to give clothing away to local people in need. Contact Cherie Hampton.

Other Service Opportunities

There are always opportunities to serve in seemingly minor ways, such as helping ill members by cooking meals or mowing lawns. Contact: Jon Douros, benevolence deacon.
