Who We Are
We are a group of people who encourage each other to become like Jesus and follow His teachings. We want to imitate Him in the way He served others with compassion and loved us all with grace and forgiveness. Christ taught that the two greatest commandments are to love God and to love each other. We do our best to center our lives around these truths.
We hope you will find a warm welcome when you worship and study with us. We realize you may have had bad experiences with religion in the past. But, we assure you, we are not interested in your money or in simply having another person to fill up our pews. We are interested in sharing the love of Christ with you through the joy of worship and Christian fellowship.
History
The Fuquay-Varina church of Christ was established during the winter of 1995. We originally met in the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce. Six months later, we hired Monte Hampton as the full-time evangelist. In 1998, we built our own meeting place at our current location just north of Fuquay-Varina.
Since the congregation was established, the number of Christians has grown from its original 9 adults (plus children) to a current attendance of around 160.
Shepherds
The job of the shepherds is to serve and take care of a church. On an individual level, they guide and help us in our Christian walk, keeping watch over our souls. To facilitate our work as a church, they set goals and work closely with our deacons.
