1 Timothy 6:12
“All My Life, I Had to Fight”
“Fight the good fight of faith…”
Main Message
The Christian walk requires you to fight for your faith. There will be resistance between the life God has called you to and the life you may naturally want to live. Faith means continuing to believe God—even when your circumstances don’t look like what He promised.
Key Points
1. Fight the good fight of faith.
Your faith is worth fighting for. Don’t allow circumstances, disappointment, or opposition to make you surrender what God has placed inside of you.
2. There will be resistance.
There will be a struggle between who God has called you to be and what your flesh or circumstances may want you to be. Resistance doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path.
3. To whom much is given, much is required.
God gives us gifts, opportunities, purpose, and responsibility. What He’s entrusted to you requires something from you in return—faithfulness, discipline, obedience, and perseverance.
4. Faith is believing God when it doesn’t look like it.
Real faith isn’t only believing when everything makes sense. Faith believes God when your natural circumstances say otherwise.
5. Take ownership of the Word.
You have to know God’s Word for yourself and learn how to stand on it and take ownership of it. Don’t simply hear the Word—apply it to your life.
6. Put your thoughts under subjection.
Like Paul, you have to learn to bring your thoughts under control. Your thoughts cannot always dictate your faith, your actions, or your response to what you’re going through.
🔥 The Big Takeaway
My life may have been a fight, but I’m still here.
The fight doesn’t mean God has abandoned me. The resistance doesn’t mean I’m failing. It may be part of the process of becoming who God called me to be.
I have to fight the good fight of faith, believe God when I can’t see the outcome, take ownership of His Word, and bring my thoughts under subjection.
💭 Personal Reflection
“What am I fighting for?”
I’m fighting for my faith.
I’m fighting for my purpose.
I’m fighting for the person God is calling me to become.
I’m fighting against thoughts that tell me to quit.
And I’m fighting to believe God even when my life doesn’t look like the promise yet.
🙌🏽 Declaration
“I will fight the good fight of faith. I will not allow what I see to override what I believe. I will take ownership of God’s Word, bring my thoughts under subjection, and continue walking in the life God has called me to. The fight may be hard, but I refuse to quit.”
